Product information

APPLICATION

LQS Primer FS is preferably used for the following applications:

  • Primer for concrete substrates, cement plaster, and epoxy plaster.
  • Suitable for surfaces with low to high absorbency.
  • Primer for epoxy floor systems.
  • Adhesive for self-leveling compounds and plaster.

ADVANTAGES

  • Easy to apply, short application time.
  • Low viscosity, ensuring good penetration.
  • Non-toxic.
  • Solvent-free, suitable for use in restricted areas.
  • Excellent adhesion.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

Surface preparation:

Concrete:

  • The concrete surface must be dense and achieve a minimum compressive strength of 25 N/mm², with a minimum bonding strength of 1.5 N/mm².
  • The surface must be clean, dry, and free from contaminants such as dust, oil, grease, old coatings, and curing compounds.
  • Weak or dusty concrete must be removed. Surface defects such as holes, pores, cracks, and bumps should be repaired and smoothed.
  • Check moisture and apply primer (if necessary):
    • Check surface moisture, relative humidity, and dew point before application.
    • If surface moisture is less than 5%, apply additional LQS Primer SB epoxy primer.
    • If surface moisture is 5% or higher, apply additional moisture-resistant LQS Primer MB epoxy primer.

Mixing procedure:

LQS Primer SB is supplied as a two-component kit, including a base component A and a hardener component B.

  • Before mixing, stir component A thoroughly. Add all of component B into component A, then continue mixing for 5–20 minutes until a homogeneous mixture is achieved.
  • Do not overmix to avoid air entrapment.
  • Use a low-speed mixer (300–400 rpm) or an appropriate mixing tool.

Primer application:

  • Ensure the primer is evenly and continuously applied on the substrate surface.
  • For low to medium porosity concrete, one coat of LQS Primer SB may be sufficient.
  • For high porosity concrete, apply two coats of LQS Primer SB (with coats applied perpendicular to each other).
  • Application tools can include brushes, short-haired rollers, or squeegees.

Cleaning:

  • Clean equipment and tools immediately after use.
  • Once the primer has cured, it can only be removed by mechanical means.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

  • Do not apply LQS Primer SB on surfaces with rising moisture.
  • Do not substitute the primer with other products.
  • The primer must be applied uniformly over the surface.

SAFETY INFORMATION:

  • Personal protection: Wear appropriate protective clothing, goggles, gloves, and masks when handling the product.
  • Ecology: Do not dispose of into water sources or soil.
  • Transportation: Not classified as hazardous.

Refer to the Product Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) and other related safety documents for more details.
