LQS Latex – Waterproofing additive and bonding agent

APPLICATION

LQS Latex is a high-quality emulsion designed to improve the quality of cement mortar such as:

• Cement slurry layer.
• Patch and thin mortar layers, waterproof plaster mortar.
• Screed mortar, concrete repair mortar. Abrasion-resistant primer layer.
• Tile adhesive mortar, masonry mortar. Wastewater treatment plants.

ADVANTAGES

• Enhances chemical abrasion resistance. Non-toxic.
• LQS Latex does not revert to emulsion form even in highly alkaline conditions.
• Suitable for cement mortars in contact with drinking water.
• High-strength floor plaster layer.
• Used for patching and repairing where thin finishing layers are required.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

Surface Preparation:

Concrete:

• Concrete surfaces must be solid and have a minimum compressive strength of 25 N/mm² and minimum adhesion strength of 1.5 N/mm².
• The surface must be clean, dry, and free from contaminants such as dust, oil, grease, old coatings, and curing compounds.
• Weak concrete and dust must be removed. Surface defects such as holes, pores, cracks, and bumps must be treated and smoothed.

Moisture check and primer application (if necessary):

• Check surface moisture, relative humidity, and dew point before application.
• If surface moisture < 5%, apply an additional epoxy primer LQS Primer FS.
• If surface moisture ≥ 5%, apply a moisture-resistant epoxy primer LQS Primer MB.

Mixing procedure:

• LQS Primer FS is supplied as a two-component kit consisting of a base part A and a hardener part B.
• Stir part A thoroughly before mixing. Add all of part B into part A and continue mixing for 5-20 minutes until a homogeneous mixture is achieved.
• Do not mix excessively to avoid air entrapment.
• Use a low-speed mixer (300-400 rpm) or other suitable mixing tools.

Primer application:

• Ensure the primer covers the entire substrate surface continuously and uniformly.
• For concrete with low to medium porosity, apply 1 coat of LQS Primer FS.
• For highly porous concrete, apply 2 coats of LQS Primer FS at perpendicular directions.
• Use a brush, short-haired roller, or squeegee for application.

Cleaning:

• Clean equipment and tools immediately after use. Once hardened, the primer can only be removed by mechanical means.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

• Do not apply LQS Primer FS on surfaces with rising moisture.
• Do not substitute the primer with other products.
• The primer layer must be applied evenly on the surface.
