ADVANTAGES
- Excellent chemical resistance.
- Outstanding adhesion to most substrates (concrete, steel, etc.).
- Good corrosion resistance.
- Durable waterproof coating in environments with chemicals and waste.
- Suitable for internal and external applications for structures immersed in water for extended periods.
APPLICATIONS
LQS Epoguard 150 is a chemical-resistant coating suitable for use in:
- Wastewater treatment plants
- Bridge piers submerged in water
- Steel or concrete storage tanks
- Oil tanks
- Steel structure protection
- Underground structures, concrete roofs, balconies, terraces
⚠️ Note: LQS Epoguard 150 is not suitable for surfaces in contact with drinking water.
APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
Surface Preparation:
Concrete:
- Concrete must be sound and have a minimum compressive strength of 25 N/mm².
- Surface must be clean, dry, and free from contaminants such as dust, oil, grease, old coatings, or curing agents.
- Weak concrete or dusty surfaces must be removed.
- Surface defects such as holes, voids, cracks, or protrusions must be repaired and leveled.
Steel:
- Concrete surrounding steel structures must also be sound with a minimum compressive strength of 25 N/mm².
- For surfaces in contact with chemicals, sandblasting is recommended to remove loose materials and contaminants (rust, scales, etc.), ensuring at least 95% surface cleanliness.
- For surfaces not exposed to chemicals, remove all rust, scales, or foreign materials (until a clean grey surface is visible); follow recommended surface preparation tools and methods.
- Coating must be applied within 3 hours after surface preparation for all metal substrates to avoid contamination or oxidation.
Moisture Check & Primer Application (if required):
- Check surface moisture, ambient humidity, and dew point before application.
- If surface moisture is < 5%, apply LQS Primer SB.
- If surface moisture is ≥ 5%, apply LQS Primer MB (moisture-tolerant epoxy primer).
Mixing Procedure:
- LQS Epoguard 150 is supplied as a two-component system:
- Part A: Base Resin
- Part B: Hardener
- Mix Part A thoroughly on its own first. Then add Part B and mix using a mechanical stirrer, moving the mixer up and down during mixing.
- Stir until the mixture is uniform, lump-free, with no sediment or trapped air bubbles.
Coating Application:
- Apply the mixed product using a brush, roller, conventional sprayer, or vacuum spray system.
- Apply the first coat in one consistent direction.
- Apply the second coat in a perpendicular direction to the first, only after the first coat has dried (typically within 24 hours).
SAFETY INFORMATION
- Personal Protection: Wear suitable protective clothing, gloves, and goggles during application.
- Environmental Safety: Do not discharge into water sources or soil.
- Transport: Not classified as hazardous for transport.
- Refer to the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) and other relevant safety documentation for more information.
